This variety of the breed is the oldest one. It’s easy to recognize by a large head, strong jaws, muscular legs and a deep chest. Throughout its history, the breed has undergone much transformation. It have taken much time, effort, devotion and investment to make a ferocious fighter into an affectionate home pet. In spite of their strength and fierce look, these dogs are very gentle and kind-hearted. These are ideal pets, as they love to be in the company of their family. They like children and make excellent companions for them because of their gentle, yet sometimes stubborn nature. These dogs are lazy and known as "couch potatoes.” These qualities don’t distract these dogs from being very protective around their family and the house.
